CErasee FARM
Liberty City’s First Urban Farm
What started on 6,000 sq. ft. of unused City land in Liberty City (2013), Cerasee Farm has grown into 3 City lots (⅓ acre) of organic, pesticide-free urban farming. Through workshops, hands-on activities, and education, we connect agriculture, aquaculture, and wellness to promote healthier communities and better preventive care.

Cerasee Farm is founded on community-based work concepts where local knowledge and engagement guides everything we strive to do. It is an ongoing strategy where everyone is a leader and contributes to the work on site. We empower members of our community with the understanding that that everyone is capable of producing valid and useful knowledge.
While gates may exist, Cerasee Farm has no doors or blockages to access as it is a community. Here there is fellowship! There is no outreach because there is no one outside to reach. Cerasee Farm is not simply a space but the invention of a lived place, a new beginning, a small break from the rigors of everyday life, a break from the past. It is a place of nature and nurture! A place where tropical storms teach us to live in the moment and see the possibilities rather than become slaves to them.
What we encourage entrants in this community to see is not the physical space (12,000 sq.ft. of City of a Miami lots) but the prospect for new narratives to be lived and written with a foundation based in agriculture and invention.
In Cerasee Farm, UGW has created a new space of belonging, a more embodied stewardship. There exists a responsibility not only for but also ownership of a community. This community is not a possession but a living domain that is gathered together as a communal existence, a meaningful life in solidarity with others and nature.

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
A CSA is a partnership between consumers and farmers that allows consumers to buy direct shares of a farm’s produce. CSA members receive deliveries or make pick-ups of fresh, locally-grown produce during the season.
Our main growing season goes September to May, in south Florida.
Our Summer season runs from June to August and usually includes a limited variety of regular produce, but it is teeming with tropical fruits, microgreens, herbs, eggs, honey, etc.
How does a CSA work?
- Subscription: Consumers pay a membership fee in advance, usually during our Winter & Spring season in south Florida.
- Delivery: During harvest season, members can pick-up or receive deliveries of produce.
- Community: CSA members are also invited to participate in community-building activities on the farm.
Benefits of CSA
- Fresh food: CSA members get access to fresh, flavorful produce.
- Learn about farming: CSA members can develop relationships with the farmers who grow their food.
Save money: CSA members may save money on food costs over the course of the season.
Farmer-Centric Supply Chain Management (and Marketplace)
Certain factors such as a significant rise in demand for agricultural products, adoption of modern agricultural techniques, surge in adoption of blockchain technology, government initiatives and more are driving the growth of the market in more than one way.
As digital advancements continue to emerge in the agricultural space, UGW over the years have integrated technologies that allow us to strengthen our relationships with farmers, retailers and consumers, including:
- Digital map
- Distribution/Logistics platform for our farming and retail partners, and their consumers. UGW is anticipated to launch its consumer-facing version to this platform by Spring of 2023.
